Tisane anti stress

In summary: Kusmi's anti-stress herbal teas combine caffeine-free rooibos, lemon balm, chamomile, verbena, lavender, lime blossom, passion flower or rhodiola to relax, promote sleep and reduce anxiety. The Feel Zen version adds orange and apple, offering a fruity note. Choose organic and pesticide-free for a healthy, soothing break.

Stress, a natural reaction

Mistakenly nicknamed “red tea”, rooibos has very little in common with tea, apart from its reddish colour. It comes from south-western South Africa, where it grows exclusively in the Cederberg region.

It contains no theine, the name for the caffeine found in green and black tea, known for its stimulating properties. You can drink it on its own or in a blend of plants, at any time of day, including in the evening. Its properties make it the plant of choice for preparing a relaxing herbal tea, to enjoy without moderation.

Lemon balm, the key ingredient in relaxing herbal teas

Known since time immemorial for its soothing properties, lemon balm grows easily in our gardens. It is often found in calming and anti-stress herbal teas.

In addition to its delicate taste and slightly lemony fragrance, it contains numerous active compounds identified long ago. Its medicinal use is thought to date back to the first Greek physicians, such as Hippocrates, who recommended it to improve digestion and reduce nervousness.

What other plants are anti-stress?

Other plants, such as chamomile or verbena, are known for their calming properties:

• Lavender has its place in a teapot, even if it is used more for its fragrance.

• Lime blossom, a zen flower so dear to our grandmothers, is very easy to use to prepare a homemade relaxing herbal tea.

• Passionflower is known for its sedative properties.

• Rhodiola helps the body adapt to stress.

• St John's wort and its calming effect can also be included in a herbal tea for relaxation.

Like all plants, these contain active compounds that are not recommended in certain situations, such as pregnancy. The advice of a specialist, pharmacist or herbalist is essential when making certain anti-stress herbal teas yourself.
